HARRISBURG, Pa. – November 14, 2011 – Source Interlink Media (SIM) announced today that Stephen Berger will be joining the SIM Events Group as vice president, operations. In this position, Steve will assist with management of the Motor Trend Auto Shows, Lowrider event series, Endurocross and MiniMotoSX races. Steve will be headquartered in the company’s Harrisburg, Pa. office and report directly to John Marriott, senior vice president, Source Interlink Business Intelligence Division & Source Interlink Media Events Group.

Prior to joining Source Interlink Media, Steve was a project manager for MCR Federal, LLC, where he facilitated the relocation of a government intelligence agency. The relocation was a four-and-a-half-year project to reposition over 8,500 employees to a new $3.2 billion facility in the Washington DC area.

Before working at MCR Federal, Steve was an officer and pilot in the U.S. Air Force, where he progressed from flying rescue aircraft to managing a $32 million flight operations program and 50 employees in five different organizations located in Tucson, Ariz. and Las Vegas, Nev. While serving in Afghanistan he directed the recovery of 91 Special Forces personnel during a helicopter crash caused by enemy fire in an actively hostile environment and executed a plan that quickly recovered all personnel resulting in zero casualties.

Steve earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the United States Air Force Academy, and his MBA from Virginia Tech. He also holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute.
