UNIONDALE, N.Y. - (September 24, 2007) Auto Expo 2008 - The Long Island Auto Show will display more than 250 of the
latest cars, trucks, sport/utility vehicles and crossovers at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum Thursday, October 18 through Sunday, October 21. This exciting event, celebrating it's 20th anniversary this year, will feature something for everyone including concept cars, high-end exotic cars, a TRANFORMERS™ movie car, classics, muscle cars, a special appearance by Spider-Man® and more.
This automotive extravaganza will allow attendees to check out all the latest vehicles in a non-selling environment. Showgoers
are invited to sit behind the wheels, inspect engines and learn about new automotive technologies in hundreds of new vehicles.
On display at the auto show will be several exciting, all-new or redesigned 2008-model vehicles including the Volvo C30, Ford Focus, Chevrolet Tahoe, Acura RDX, Nissan Altima Coupe, Pontiac Solstice GXP, Toyota Highlander, Mitsubishi Lancer and the Cadillac CTS. In addition, the latest hybrid and flex-fuel models on display from Chevrolet, Ford, Lexus, Toyota, Nissan, Saturn and more afford attendees the opportunity to explore the latest technology in fuel efficiency.
Concept cars are always a big hit, and this year's Long Island Auto Show offers the opportunity to check out exciting
concepts, including the Suzuki Blizzard and Bumblebee™, the Chevrolet Camaro concept from the summer blockbuster TRANSFORMERS™. These futuristic vehicles are sure to steal the spotlight at this year's auto show, providing a glimpse of
what is around the corner in automotive design and technology. Concept cars are a product of an auto designer's vision. They
are created to address the transportation challenges of tomorrow and usually incorporate advanced technology, innovative
styling cues and alternative power sources. Concept cars serve as testing beds for new ideas and are designed to provoke interest, excite auto show audiences and create dialogue between consumers and manufacturers. (Concept cars are subject
to change.)
Follow the camera flashes to the display of exotic cars from duPont REGISTRY. This unique display will allow attendees to get a first-hand look at some of the worlds most sought after exotic cars on the market. Many of these high-profile vehicles included in this display are owned by celebrities, musicians and professional athletes. In addition to the exotic cars on display, members of several local car clubs will showcase their personal vehicles on Saturday, October 20 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Sunday, October 21 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Displays include Chevrolet Chevelles, courtesy of the Long Island Chevelles, and classic Cadillac LaSalles, courtesy of the Cadillac LaSalle Club of Long Island Dreamboats.
